Thing 12 games does 2 things very well, compact games and kickstarters. Sean Epperson was kind enough to give me some time to talk about kickstarters, games and.... FIFA 99?
In January there is a game coming to kickstarter called Castle Von Loghan. Have you heard about it? Me either, till about a week ago. There are some very interesting mechanics to this game and i wanted to know more about it, so I contact designer Paul Toderas to get some more info about the game.

Recently I came across a site called Board Game Finder. I am always curious about finding new games so i figured i would give it a shot. As I typed in games that i love it showed me a list of other games I might be interested in (many of which i already owned), this got me very curious about the inner workings of the website. After messing around with picking the top 5 games from some of my favorite game mechanics and categories to try and find new games to try i contacted the designers. They were kind enough to give me a few minutes of their time and break down some of the math and logic behind the site.
In 1984, Tom Filsinger proposed a wrestling game to the World Wrestling Federation only to be rejected in favor of a Milton Bradley game. This rejection inadvertently led to the creation and success of Champions of the Galaxy, a sci-fi RPGish wrestling dice-and-card game that can be played alone or with two or more friends, and which features hundreds of characters from the future of professional wrestling. Since then Tom has expanded and the game has kept a fierce following for over 30 years with a new story-line expansion released every year. Add to this his numerous collaboration with wrestling legends (Randy Savage, Harley Race, D.D.P....) and federations (Ring of Honor, Chikara....) and you have a company with decades of fans. Tom was nice enough to take some time to answer a few questions about Filsinger games and it's longevity.
