Welcome to the March edition of overboard. This month we interview one of our own, Jennifer Rabey. When i started doing overboard Jen informed me that she has a lot of munchkin if i ever wanted to talk to her about it. Indeed i do Jen, Indeed I do.
How long have you been playing munchkin?
I started Munchkin back in 2004. It was a bonding experience with my follower club leaders back in college and I have been a fan ever since. I have one of the first prints of Munchkin when it wasn't in color yet.
What is your favorite base set & why?
I would have to say I have two favorites. The original because of all the memories and late nights playing it and Munchkin AxeCop because it was the first Munchkin that I got people hooked on from just the idea of the back story.
Of all the bgg listings for munchkin items, how many do you own?
I think almost everything that is out. There maybe some cards that I'm missing that where at convention. I also have doubles because I really loved the guest artist editions too.
Besides the games, how much other munchkin stuff do you own?
I have two chibi Cthulhu (original and zombie) duck of doom and gloom, a couple of the special delivery, a couple of posters, an apron and all the comics.
What is your most prized possession?
At GenCon 2017 I got to go the Munchkin Tavern and got a signed poster from Steve Jackson.
What is your favorite card/character?
Its hard to give a favorite card or character, there are so many. I guess I would have to go with the cards that chain. Like in Munchkin Fu you can chain anything that says Hong Kong.
People either love or hate munchkin. What has kept you a fan all these years?
I'm a collector at heart and they are always coming out with something new! I loved Munchkin gloom, Munchkin Smash up, Munchkin Panic, Munchkin Quest and Munchkin Treasure hunt. Even just the base game recoded like munchkin Rick and Morty is fun and new. I can't wait to see what CMON comes out with for Munchkin. I know its going to hurt my wallet. I also can't wait to try out the new Munchkin CCG.
